Chairman of Dangote Group Monday (11/05/2020; Ramadan 17, 1441) led a coalition of private sector leaders under the umbrella of Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) to redeem another of the Coalition’s pledges to Kano State in the ongoing war against the deadly CORONAVIRUS pandemic (COVID19). 
The coalition formed, under the leadership of Dangote to provide support and to complement the efforts of the various levels of Government to combat the COVID-19 crisis in the country officially handed over a renovated and remodeled Abubakar Imam isolation center at the Abubakar Imam Urology Center on Katsina Road of Kano Metropolis, to the Kano state government.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony , representative of CACOVID Alhaji Abdulkadir Sidi revealed that the coalition spear headed by Alhaji Aliko Dangote spent over N200 million to uplift the 66 beds Abubakar Imam facility to a befitting modern standard.
Alhaji Sidi said, the coalition had provided equipment needed at a universally acclaimed standard isolation center in addition to repainting of the inner and outer spaces of the facility as well as provision of full air-conditioning in all its rooms.
According to the CACOVID representative, this is an addition to the newly established 300 beds isolation center also faciliated by the coalition at Sani Abacha Stadium, which he said will also be handed over very soon to the state government.
"The coalition has spent over N200 million in renovating, remodeling and equipping the Abubakar Imam Isolation centre in Kano which had become dilapidated” prior to this intervention as part of the CACOVID’s  efforts at complementing the Nigerian Government at different levels in its bid to combat the COVID-19 crisis in Kano state and the country at large said Sidi.
He stressed that the effort was a total renovation of the facility to enable it serve the purpose of isolating COVD-19 patients in the state.
The center according to Sidi has sporting facilities and a modern common room for the patient's use.
Receiving the renovated and remodeled isolation center, Kano state Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje revealed that the state government lacked words to express how grateful the government is to Alhaji Aliko Dangote. According to him the state is indeed indebted to Dangote for always being there for Kano people.
"Surely, Dangote has positively assisted Kano state in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. He was there for us when we needed improvement in the testing of the virus by providing a mobile testing facility. He was there for us when we needed ambulances and other logistics, and now this remodeled isolation center. Truly, we lack words to say, thank you to Dangote," said Ganduje.
The Governor further gave assurances that the State will put the centre to use immediately.
