A stalwart of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Senator Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Jagaban Borgu, and former Governor of Lagos State has described the late Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa as “a great mind”, whose demise was as much a personal loss as it was to members of the immediate family of the Late PRP Leader and Kaduna Governor.
He made this remark (Saturday 27th, March 2021) at the residence of the late national leader of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) when he paid the family a condolence visit.
“We are all sharing the condolences. We all lost a great man. A great mind. A man of principles and a great character. May God grant him Aljannat Firdaus,” he said.
The former Governor of Lagos State added that along with leading associates they would soon meet and draw a series of plans of activities to immortalize the late icon especially in respect of annual lectures in commemoration of his life and his struggles for social and economic justice.
In his remarks, the eldest son of the late patriarch Dr. Ibrahim Balarabe Musa, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the Asiwaju and members of his delegation for coming personally to pay their condolences and described the visitor as a father figure to the family.
Ibrahim Balarabe Musa described the death of their late patriarch as peaceful and devoid of any trauma and that he left without holding a grudge against any person adding that his concerns were always for the country.
“His feelings every day were for Nigeria. Every day he feels for Nigeria” he said
He also said that the greatest legacy their father bequeathed to them was that he did not leave any big problems in terms of inheritance.
“Apart from the personal house he left behind there was nothing to fight about. The fact that nobody can come and abuse us and say that we are the children of a thief is the most important thing for us and he has educated all of us, both male and female and that is the greatest thing; not money or material wealth.”
Ibrahim also said that they shall definitely need a brother and a friend like Bola Tinubu in this type of situation they found themselves and that he and his siblings had absolute respect for the former Governor of Lagos State.
Those in the former Governor and APC national leader’s entourage include pioneer national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, former ACN presidential candidate and pioneer EFCC Chairman, Police AIG Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and Senator Abu Ali amongst others.
